Please come and have a look – we promise the opportunities are numerous. Brynkinalt is a small estate located just outside Chirk and is highly accessible due to the proximity of the A483. The principal building of Brynkinalt is a small stately home built in the 1600’s and enlarged in the early 1800’s and offers number of unusual spaces and styles of room. The front door faces souths and there are gardens and patios to both the east and the west for scenes using morning and evening light. The front section of the house has a large entrance porch with arched wooden double doors with metal studs, leading into Jacobean proportion rooms with original oak panelling on the Oak Hall, a warm and inviting library with matching sets of old leather bound books and a small writing room. Beyond this, the house opens up into an impressive galleried hallway with 2 large glass domes and central stairs and then expands in to 2 wings with high Georgian ceilings and large windows bringing plenty of light into the property. The Dining Room has 3 large windows and hosts a large mahogany table that can seat 18 and a hidden hatch behind a painting. There is a small Ante room with another glass dome, a piano forte, antique sofa and gilt chairs, leading into a large Drawing room traditionally decorated but with more modern sofas. This in turn leads into 2 small “Boudoirs” or Morning rooms and a Conservatory with a wide range of ceiling height exotic plants. Double doors lead out onto a small balcony over looking the stunning Ceiriog Valley with parkland in the foreground and a wooded bank on the far side of the view. There are a number of beautiful bedrooms including 2 four poster beds and a range of more modern bathrooms. The back section of the hall consists of old fashioned corridors with service bell panels and cellars and an arched wine cellar. There is also a light airy modern kitchen with an aga, gas hob, walk in larder and traditional style cupboards. At the back of the house is a large courtyard with kennels, huge Wooden studded doors and a turret on each side. The house is traditionally decorated with wide wooden floor boards and beautiful patterned rugs throughout, in keeping with a house of this age. There are formal gardens to the West of the house with herbaceous borders, roses, walls, mature trees, hedges and mixed planting around a hexagonal pond. To the East of the house is a woodland garden with large oaks, other deciduous trees and majestic redwoods plus large banks of rhododendrons and azaleas and separate species of these in open grass areas. There is also a historic viewing area with a turreted low wall and large oak trunk in the centre. There are several small gate lodges and one with turrets and an arched central gateway. We also have 1,000 acres of farmland, 300 acres of woodland and forestry and a wide range of outbuildings, farm settings and landscapes including parkland, formal and woodland gardens. We have some experience of working with production companies, having been used on Escape to the Country a few years ago and on a much larger scale by Sony & Netflix last year for the new rendition of Lady Chatterley’s Lover when approx three quarters of the film was shot on site here. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and “can do” attitude and our on site maintenance team helped facilitate tight schedules and set building. We also have some outbuildings where sets can be built adding to the ease of production/logistics and maximisation of filming in one location while the nature of the estate allows for privacy if desire. The location of the estate with good road access ensures the large wagons of todays crews can easily get on and off site, with plenty of accommodation options nearby at Gledrid, Wrexham and Chester. The village of Chirk is located at the end of the long front drive and has good facilities for a small village including a train station, butcher selling fresh sandwiches and pies and a spa shop, with additional shops located only a few minutes drive away helping to keep crews happy and fed. We have plenty of flat space close to the house for production facilities to set up, good accessibility for lighting rigging etc and the nature of the Estate enables privacy and security to be managed effectively and effectively. Please come and have a look – we don’t think you will be disappointed !
